Day One: Bread & Butter

If what the brands at Bread and Butter have on show is anything to go by then spring 13 is set to be a print-tastic season.

Across both men’s and womenswear brands prints and patterns are in abundance across shirts, dresses, shorts and T-shirts.

Menswear brand Anerkjendt has been particularly brave, which has definitely paid off with the collection standing out amongst the cluster of brands around it. Patterns include unicycles and tropical fish plus camouflage patterns, which have been weaved together.

Denim brands have too endorsed prints with Pepe Jeans London showcasing stars and florals on its jeans. Young fashion brand UCLA has used repeated logos in a pattern all over its sweatshirts.

Young fashion brand Iron Fist has taken its bright patterns to the next level producing patterns made out of sequins. I think I may have fallen a little in love with their turquoise, purple and black leopard sequined maxi skirt.

The labels I have seen so far have been a breath of fresh air with brands using patterns and prints in an interesting way, mixing different prints for pockets on polos and some being more daring than ever by putting zebra prints onto men’s shorts. Spring 13 will certainly be a season to look forward to.
