Raf Simons’ show in Monaco was a gamble that’ll surely pay off.
For those of you who follow the fashion coverage on Drapers closely, it’ll be unsurprising for you to read a piece in which I extol the virtues of Raf Simons, whether it be his work for his own line or latterly for his collections for Dior. But I feel moved to stray into fanboy territory again having seen Simons’ Cruise 2014 show for the grand old house in casino mecca Monaco.
Zingy, modern, classic, intriguing and beautiful, it perfectly aligned itself with his preceding RTW and couture lines, as colour palettes were shared and silhouettes tweaked. If I was a) a woman, b) minted and c) had the figure for it, I’d buy the lot. Flick through the gallery above and try telling me you’re not hooked too.
