Drapers Comment: It’s that time again – Drapers 30 under 30

Are you aged 30 or under, work within the fashion industry and are amazing at what you do? Do you know, work with, or employ someone that is? Well it’s time to step into the spotlight; the search for Drapers’ 30 under 30 of 2016 is officially on.

Drapers’ 30 under 30 class of 2015. Enter now for you chance to make our 2016 list of fashion’s rising stars.

For those of you not familiar with our talent search, every year for the past seven years Drapers has selected 30 fashion industry professionals as our future stars. Those chosen will be profiled within our January 9 issue (you will be contacted in November and we will arrange a group photo shoot in December), and be invited to an exclusive 30 under 30 celebration dinner in January. The 30 will also be invited to our annual Next Generation day-long event in April, where inspirational speakers from the industry will talk about their careers. Past speakers have included Ted Baker founder Ray Kelvin, former Marks & Spencer chief executive Sir Stuart Rose, and Net-a-Porter co-founder Mark Sebba. So it’s really one not to miss.

We’re looking for people aged 30 and under with a proven track record and who have made a difference to the businesses they have worked for and in the roles that they have held. You can come from a number of disciplines, including buying, merchandising, design, technical roles including pattern cutting, grading or garment tech, in retail/store operations, sales, marketing, or in a digital capacity including content, or be an entrepreneur, among others. If you’re not sure if you, or the person that you want to nominate is eligible, then just get in touch to ask.

Entries are open from now until October 16.  

To enter we will need you to email us the following:

Self-nominations - Full name, job title, the name of the company you work for, your age and D.O.B, your CV, an endorsement from your line manager or HR, and 200 words on why you should be included. Please also provide your phone number.

Company nominations – If you are nominating someone in your company, an employee, line report or colleague, then we will need to know their full name, job title, age and D.OB, a list of previous positions and experience held and 200 words on why they should be included. We will also need their contact details.

Third-party nominations – If you would like to nominate someone you used to work with, or someone within another company that you deal with and feel merits being included, we will need their full name, job title, the name of the company they work for, their age and D.O.B, and 200 words on why they should be chosen. Please include information on their experience, and we will also need their contact details. Finally, we will seek the nominees’ employer’s approval.
