Littlewood's back-catalogue with Coleen Rooney

How did they get her to agree to this?

I’m not normally one to be browsing the Daily Mail showbiz site of a lunchtime (honest) but, in amongst the pictures of Kim Kardashian in a bikini, someone off TOWIE telling the world they’re over their ex when they’re not and other “news” no one else cares about, I found this cracking story about Coleen Rooney’s latest campaign for Littlewoods.

Shot by the venerable Terry O’Neill, the campaign images place Coleen in recreations of some humdinging catalogue covers from the Littlewoods archive. My favourite is the 1982 one (very Linda Lusardi) while I only wish the 1930s one had Wayne and his weave in it as the suave male companion. Now if only other celebrities wouldn’t take themselves so seriously and have a bit of fun once in a while it’d make looking at fashion advertising far more entertaining.

  • Brilliant! I think Coleen is a real style icon and this shows that she has a good personality and sense of humour, unlike some of the other style icons/celebrities that are out there!

  • A footballer's wife. Perfect ad star for the Littlewoods key customer demographic.
