London Fashion Week Day 5: runway to retail

Draper’s fashion director Ian Wright says sitting pretty in pink is the way forward for retailers.

While by no means a brand spanking new colour, bubblegum pink has been popping up collections all over London Fashion Week, no more so than yesterday as labels as diverse as Simone Rocha, Paul Costelloe and Roksanda Ilincic all took on the tone. Leaving aside the fact the shade is ever so slightly reminiscent of the one Raf Simons used for his last collection for Jil Sander back in autumn 12, it’s a fun and commercial colour whether employed in a prim way by Costelloe, puffy by Rocha or plasticy by Ilincic.
