Milan Fashion Week: Day 1’s unusual colour combo

The day’s key tones were to be found at the end of the rainbow writes Drapers fashion director Ian Wright

Despite the fact Gucci kicks off proceedings, the first day of Milan Fashion Week was a relatively quiet affair, which is why it was all the more surprising to pick up on an odd colour combination trend. From Alberta Ferretti’s ankle length striped skirt to DSquared’s cute bikini and jacket set via the genius Snoopy link-up at Fay, the pairing of orange, purplish blues and yellow/ white came in a few forms. It’ll be interesting to see if other Milanese designers also see a pot of gold at the end of this particular rainbow as the week progresses.
