Fashion Director Ian Wright picks his ottimo shows in the Italian capital.
As the unenviable task of breaking down the tent at Somerset House begins, the fashion merry-go-round turns to Milan for its next hit of spring 13. At the risk of providing a list of obvious picks, here’s what we’re looking forward to seeing:
- Prada (5pm GMT, Thursday), more specifically how Miuccia will follow up the jazzy carpets of autumn 12 and then conversely the restraint of resort and the menswear.
- The Versace, Versus double-header (7pm GMT, Friday) where we’ll see what Donatella’s been working on and what her protégé Christopher Kane’s talents have produced hot on the heels of his well-received London show. From Frankenstein to Dracula in a week? Perhaps.
- Bottega Veneta (8:30am GMT, Saturday) for no other reason than I’m obsessed with the label and how it weaves both leather and story-telling so skilfully.
- Jil Sander (2pm GMT, Saturday) for the first look at what post-Raf Jil Sander womenswear looks like.
Here’s to a molto bene Milan Fashion Week.
