Ops Special: Optimising operations – your key to success

Christina Simone

As we count down to the Drapers Operations Forum next week, we are turning the spotlight on the back-office functions that are the driving force behind any fashion business in this Drapers Operations Special Report.

Anyway you slice it, the key to success in today’s fast fashion retail industry lies behind the scenes. There is a new type of customer: a demanding one who craves consistency and a service that exceeds the highest expectations. A thriving back office operation, whether kept internal or outsourced, satiates the needs for the reigning customer’s want for instant gratification.

A business, no doubt, can feel and see the impact of this stress and is forced to turn inward, dissect itself from the inside out, and understand what it needs to do to be at the apex of the industry. It must operate efficiently and practically. If chaos is the breeding ground for structure, then take inspiration from what it commands.

There are still places available at the Drapers Operations Forum on 14 June at The Bloomsbury Hotel, London WC1B 3NN
