Paris Fashion Week: Day 1’s beautiful blouses

Drapers fashion director Ian Wright gets shirty after the first day’s shows

Full disclosure: I’m rather partial to a white shirt. I have perhaps eight or nine virtually identical button-down collar styles in my wardrobe, with a further three standard options and another two dress shirts. I clearly have some sort of problem, but if yesterday’s shows at Paris Fashion Week are anything to go by, so do some of the designers. White blouses appeared buttoned up to their oversized, exaggerated collars at Aganovic, while conversely Anthony Vaccerello presented more fluid, open necked options. You could even say Cedric Charlier got involved, with a over the head sporty v-neck style but it was more of a top so take it or leave it. Teamed with everything from short, sexy acid-washed denim skirts to swishy voluminous painter-style trousers, it proves the blouse is as versatile and commercial as fashion week is likely to get.
