Paris Fashion Week: Mrs Sheen and her shiny fabrics on Day 3

Day 3 of PFW was a day for reflection says Drapers fashion director Ian Wright

There was no taking the shine of yesterday’s group of designers as Paris Fashion Week saw a host of sheen-rich materials come down the catwalk. High shine though not patent leather was seen at Ann Demeulemeester and Irfe, while, true to form, Paco Rabanne employed a variety of metallic textiles throughout the collection. But the most ubiquitous fabric was silk, coming in a variety of weights, colours and prints in collections from the likes of Balenciaga, Balmain, Carven and Nina Ricci, with the Lanvin collection worth a separate mention for its lustrous jewel tones. Should make for some shiny happy people come spring.
