Meeting an actual Vogue lady in the flesh is to me much more exciting than meeting a celeb (barring a few), you wonder what she’ll look like, what she’ll wear and how down to earth she’ll be, if she’ll notice you or maybe want to become your new BFF- imagine the frebbies you’d get being BFF with someone at Vogue.
Calgary Avansino didn’t disappoint, a tiny sixe 6-8, with long blonde hair, looking eternally youthful and wearing a £1,800 Victoria Beckham dress (and she’s American.). Basically nothing less than what you require from a Vogue lady.
We’d managed to blag seats close to the front, so we could hang on every word Calgray said as she acutely lead us through her spring summer looks of the season, as presented by Vogue. Here are a few……

Lastly the look of the evening Victoria Beckman Dress…
Calgary, wearing Victoria Beckham herself, let us into a little insight to what it’s like to meet Queen Vic herself. Calgary describes how at shows Beckham sits in with the editors and as each garment is shown, she carefully describes her inspiration behind each piece and allows the editors to hear the voice behind the brand, ultimately in a bid to give Beckham the respect she has wanted from the industry since she started and by Calgary’s tone it’s starting to pay off.
(Apparently there were two Man City WAGs that got in a little bit of a scuffle after the show, trying to buy this £1,800 dress. Thank god they had two sizes 8 in store)
As the show came to an end and the floor was opened up for questions a member of the audience asked Calgary what she’d be wearing for spring 2011….. “I’d like to be brave enough to wear a white suit, but the practicality of it is different”. I am pretty sure if any women can pull of a white suit its Calgary Avansino……
Thanks to Selfridges and Calgary Avansino for giving TFN an insight into the fashion thoughts of a Vogue lady.
