UK consumer confidence rose by the biggest monthly amount since August this month, a survey showed today.
After falling in December, the YouGov/Cebr Consumer Confidence Index rose by 2 points to 110.3 in January, which is the highest level since September.
The improvement reflects a more positive outlook towards house prices, businesses and household finances, YouGov and business consultancy Cebr said.
The survey’s gauge of job security was the only measure that fell this month.
The YouGov/Cebr survey is based on the responses of around 6,000 consumers each month.
