Consumers gain confidence ahead of the festive season

Consumer confidence is on the rise as retailers start to gear up for Black Friday and the Christmas season, according to a report from PwC.

British consumers are expecting to be better off over the next twelve months, despite concerns over rising prices created by the sharp drop in the value of the pound.

PwC found 19% of the 2,050 people surveyed expected to earn more, up from 15% in June. Londoners were feeling particularly optimistic, with 40% saying they expected to earn more.
