Cos breaks into the US market

Premium retailer Cos is launching in the US next spring, with a store opening planned for New York’s Soho district.

The move marks the “next chapter” in the evolution of the H&M owned fashion chain, which will also unveil its US e-commerce site in 2014.

Marie Honda, overall brand responsible for Cos, said: “New York City is a vibrant and exciting city and we feel Soho will be the ideal setting for our first store”.

The expansion follows the news that Cos is to open a further three stores in London on King’s Road, Canary Wharf and in the Bentall Centre in Kingston upon Thames before Christmas, bringing its number of London stores to ten.

Cos currently has 75 stores in 17 countries including UK, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, France, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Italy, Norway, Dubai, Kuwait, China and Poland. It also retails online to 18 European markets.
