Cyber Monday set to break all records

Cyber Monday looks set to break all records this week with shoppers thought to have spent £650m online yesterday (December 1).

Figures from the IMRG estimated £451,000 was spent per minute - making it the busiest online shopping day ever and a 26% increase on last year.

Amazon says it recorded sales of around 64 items every second on Cyber Monday - one of the busiest shopping days ever for the etailer.

Mintel suggested that Britain’s total online spend would be £4.7bn, with shoppers in the East and South East pending a third of that.
