Dame Kelly Holmes fronts Fashion & Textile Children's Trust event

Olympic medallist Dame Kelly Holmes was the guest-speaker at industry charity Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust bi-annual business breakfast event yesterday.

The event, hosted by FTCT director Anna Pangbourne, welcomed guests from more than 30 top fashion retailers including Selfridges buying director David Walker Smith, Topshop managing director Mary Homer, and Asos founder Nick Robertson.

Aimed at raising industry awareness of the charity’s financial grants, guests heard a speech from one beneficiay 13-year old Tia. Her father applied for a grant to support his daughter through his role as a general assistant for Tesco.

David Shepherd, FTCT trustee and Arcadia’s chief operating officer trading, said:

“By having both Dame Kelly Holmes and Tia speak at our event today we have been able to show guests both the relevance of FTCT for their employees and the vital role which FTCT has to play in unlocking life’s chances for children across the UK.”
