Daniel Footwear competition winner sees designs come to life

Luxury footwear designer Stuart Weitzman has designed an exclusive pair of shoes for mini footwear chain Daniel Footwear, based on the designs of a school competition winner.

Cora McLeod from Ponteland High School, Newcastle picked up the top prize in the footwear competition for her design ‘Cora’s Wave Wedge’.

The final shoe made by Weitzman will be sold in Daniel Footwear stores and online for £275.

Daniel Buck, owner of Daniel Footwear, said that the “sophisticated” winning design caught his eye given Cora’s “attention to detail”.

This is the second time the retailer has held the competition encouraging young, up-and-coming designers, aged between 6 and 16, to invent and draw a shoe that would join the Daniel offering.
