Danish brand Masai sold to private equity group

Danish womenswear brand Masai has been acquired by private equity group Silverfleet Capital for an undisclosed amount.

The management team based in Copenhagen, led by chief executive Sune Bjerregaardwill, continue to lead the business and retain a minority stake. 

Bjerregaard said: “We felt they were the right partner for us to help us grow even further, particularly as they have extensive experience of investing in retail and consumer related businesses and a significant track record of helping companies to expand internationally”.

The brand, founded in 1992 has nearly 400 customers in the UK and Ireland and has global sales of €105m (£75m).
