David Adams, the former deputy chief executive of House of Fraser, has been appointed non-executive chairman of Moss Bros.
David Adams, who is also executive chairman of camera retailer Jessops and non executive director at Whittards of Chelsea and the British Retail Consortium, has joined the board of Moss Bros with immediate effect. Adams replaces Keith Hamill who retired from the role in June.
Moss Bros chief executive Philip Mountford said: “David has been instrumental in the growth and recovery of a number of retailer businesses. I have no doubt that he will be a huge asset to Moss Bros, as we focus on implementing our three year strategic plan to re-invest in our current portfolio, grow the core Moss chain and develop our Asian supply chain.”
Adams added: “I am delighted to be joining Moss Bros as its non-executive chairman and am looking forward to addressing the challenges this long established business faces in the current economic climate. It has a great name and a portfolio of brands second to none in the menswear sector both in retail and hire. I look forward to working with Philip and the management team to ensure we maximise shareholder value.”
