De Roemer eyes growth

Luxury cashmere brand De Roemer is hoping to quadruple sales in the next 18 months as it looks to increase its wholesale customer base and grow its online business.

The brand, which was chosen as a Brand of Tomorrow in the mentoring scheme run by Walpole, the industry body that represents more than 100 British luxury brands, wants to increase its number of independent stockists. Managing director Justin Packshaw said: “We’re looking for smaller, boutique independents.”

De Roemer has 14 UK stockists including Harrods, designer indie Matches and Paul & Joe Sister’s store.

However, Packshaw added that the majority of the brand’s growth would come from online sales, after the recent launch of its transactional website. “Online is another important route to market,” he said. De Roemer also has 18 international wholesale accounts in 11 countries.
