Debenhams appoints former Moss Bros chairman to board

Debenhams has appointed David Adams, former CFO at House of Fraser and ex-chairman at Moss Bros, as a non-executive director.

He will become chairman of the audit committee in January 2018, when Mark Rolfe, the current chairman of the committee, intends to step down from the Debenhams board.

Adams was CFO at HoF for nine years until 2006 and was chairman at Moss Bros between 2008 and 2010.

He currently sits on the boards of Halfords Group, Fever Tree Drinks, Elegant Hotels Group and Thinksmart.

Debenhams chairman Ian Cheshire said: “He has had a long and distinguished career in the retail and consumer goods industries. His knowledge of the consumer and leisure sectors, as well as his financial credentials, will be a great addition to the board.”
