Mothercare and Monsoon are the latest high street names to take floorspace in Debenhams, following deals with Sports Direct and Costa Coffee.
The Mothercare ranges are being trialled in Croydon and Manchester and will be sold in Debenhams’ Leeds store next week, according to The Guardian.
The area given to Mothercare in the Manchester store is reported to be 6,000 sq ft, which is as big as one of its standalone stores.
No details on the Monsoon tie-up have been announced as yet.
Difficult Christmas trading at Debenhams led chief executive Michael Sharp to tell the City that 10% of its floor space – 1m sq ft – could be made more profitable with the introduction of new brands and services.
Sports Direct is opening a 9,836 sq ft concession on the fourth floor of Debenhams in Bristol on October 25 and a 9,804 sq ft concession on the second floor of Debenhams in Guildford on October 18. The concessions will feature areas for running, football and golf.
The sports retailer opened two concessions in the Harrow and Southsea branches of Debenhams during the summer.
