The service will remain free for any orders over £20, and for store card holders and Beauty Club members.

A spokeswoman for the company told Drapers that very few click-and-collect orders are beneath the £20 price threshold and the company has not had any negative responses from customers on the introduction to date.

In February Tesco started charging for click-and-collect services on non-food products under the value of £30.

In July last year John Lewis became the first major high street retailer to charge for click-and- collect services.
