Debenhams has appointed former Franklin Templeton executive vice president Lisa Myers as a non-executive director.
Myers spent 19 years at investment firm Franklin Templeton, managing or co-managing more than $10bn (£7.5bn) of assets and co-ordinated its global consumer research with responsibility for the retail, textile and apparel and luxury goods sectors.
Most recently, Myers was co-head of global partnership investing at Brazilian financial firm BTG Pactual.
Sir Ian Cheshire, chairman of Debenhams, welcomed Myers’ “long and distinguished career in fund management” and said her extensive knowledge of international retail will be a “great addition to the board”.
Debenhams trades out of more than 240 stores across 27 countries.
