Debenhams to open in Iran

Debenhams is to open a store in Tehran in Iran.

Debenhams will open a three-storey store in the capital’s main shopping street.

At least two other stores are planned to open in Iran.

Debenhams’ international director Francis McAuley told The Sun newspaper: “It’s a really self sufficient country - they have everything except fashion so there’s a real pent-up demand.”

“I’m expecting the Iranian market to be similar to the rest of the Middle East,” McAuley added.
