Delmod International in administration

German womenswear firm Delmod International, the parent company behind womenswear brands Delmod and Hirsch, has fallen into administration.

It is unclear at present what effect the insolvency will have on the UK market.

Delmod is the second German mainstream womenswear brand to come into difficulty in the last month. Escada, the German luxury womenswear group, sold off its Cavita, Apriori and and Laurel brands earlier this year to help it raise cash. Escada recently launched plans to raise €29 million (£25.1m) in a rights issue in a bid to stave off insolvency.

The administrator for Delmod International is Rechtsanwalt Detlef Stürmann at Kanzlei Schultze & Braun.
