Diane Stone to retire from WSA show

Diane Stone, chief operating officer of Las Vegas-based footwear show WSA, is to retire after five years in the role.

Elyse Kroll, founder and chairman of ENK Internationa, which bought WSA in December 2007, will take over the WSA show on a temporary basis while a successor for Stone is sought.

Stone joined WSA in 2004 and was instrumental in changing the show from a not-for-profit venture into a for-profit venture following a management buyout. Stone has worked across a raft of international trade shows for more than 20 years.

Stone said: “My time in the footwear industry has been something I’ve thoroughly and completely enjoyed. It’s an industry filled with terrific companies, but [more than that], it’s filled with terrific people.”
