Diesel director joins Ben Sherman

Colin Naylor, former commercial director at Diesel, has joined men’s young fashion brand Ben Sherman as international sales director.

Naylor will take up the newly created role on Monday, assuming responsibility for the UK and Europe. UK sales director Laurence Morse left the business in September.

Naylor’s appointment follows the surprise departure of chief executive Pan Philippou, as revealed by Drapers earlier this week.

Philippou left the business after almost three years at the label. A replacement is yet to be announced and it is not known what Philippou’s plans are as yet.

In a statement drawn up prior to his departure, Philippou said: “We are delighted that Colin is coming on board. He joins us at an exciting time, when our new collections are breaking through into new wholesale accounts globally and we are driving the brand towards a more premium aesthetic.”

Naylor was previously commercial director at Diesel, where he worked for two years. Prior to this he was UK country manager at denim brand Replay and has also held roles at John Richmond and Paul Smith.
