Diesel owner makes a bid for Belstaff

OTB Group, the Italian owner of Diesel and Marni, is reported to have a made a bid for British heritage label Belstaff.

The luxury specialist has tabled an offer in recent weeks, according to the Sunday Times. Belstaff was put up for sale in April by its current owners, the billionaire Reimann family. Luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo, owned by the family’s luxury business arm JAB Holding Co, was put up for sale at the same time.

Belstaff, best known for its motorcycle jackets, was required by the Reimann family for almost £100m in 2011. It posted losses of £4.8m in the year to December 2015 and has five standalone stores in the UK.
