Dinner with Davies in charity auction

The Retail Trust London Ball has kicked off its silent auction with a string of prizes up for grabs, including dinner with retail veteran George Davies.

The auction, which has been organised by Touker Suleyman, owner of shirt retailer Hawes & Curtis, is live at Online bidding closes on January 27, ahead of the live auction at the London Ball, which will take place on January 31 at Grosvenor House in London.

The highest bidder for the dinner with Davies will be wined and dined by the retail veteran, along with eight guests, at Davies’ home in the Cotswolds.

Davies founded Next, Marks & Spencer sub-brand Per Una and George at Asda. He set up beleaguered womenswear chain GIVe over a year ago and will launch kidswear chain FG4 in the UK next year.

Other prizes include a two-week design internship with fast-fashion chain New Look and a pair of Kurt Geiger shoes every month until 2012.
