Distribution deal for Luke

Luke Roper, the company behind Luke 1977 and the distributor of Modern Amusement, has signed a distribution deal with three new labels.

Luke Roper director Simon Poole said the company had taken on outerwear brand Alpha Industries, contemporary menswear brand J Fedders and Scandinavian premium label Nerve for spring 09. Poole said he would handle logistics, marketing and brand promotion but that Carl Barratt, who previously distributed 4You in the UK, would handle sales for the three labels on an agency basis.

Poole said the new labels would give Luke Roper’s distribution business a strong spread of brands. “It means we are not solely reliant on Luke, which gives us flexibility,” he said.

“Alpha Industries will target premium doors while J Fedders gives us an entry price point of £12 on shirts alongside Peter Werth and French Connection, and Nerve is more grown up.”
