Former BHS owner Dominic Chappell is set to return to the UK in an attempt to clear his name in the ongoing investigation into the downfall of the high street retailer.
According to The Telegraph, Mr Chappell is returning to the country after consulting with his lawyers and will release a full statement on his views on the select committee report later today (July 27).
Chappell has so far not commented on the findings of the select committee report released yesterday (July 26), which saw Sir Philip Green blamed for BHS’s downfall. Green hit back at the report, calling it “biased and unfair”, but has already faced calls to be stripped of his knighthood.
BHS is set to disappear from the UK high streets by next month as the last remaining stores close. The brand’s website has also closed, but is set to relaunch in the autumn.
