Donna Karan sold to G-III Apparel

US firm G-III Apparel has agreed to buy Donna Karan International from LVMH in a deal valued at $650m (£494m), which is expected to close at the end of this year or in early 2017.

G-III Apparel is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of branded apparel and accessories, with a portfolio of more than 30 licensed and proprietary labels including Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Guess?, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, Dockers, Jessica Simpson, Vince Camuto, Ellen Tracy, Kensie, Mac & Jac, Jones New York, Ivanka Trump, Nine West and GH Bass.

The deal includes both the Donna Karan and DKNY brands.
