Dr Martens launches clothing line

Footwear brand Dr Martens has launched a ready-to-wear clothing collection influenced by its footwear heritage.

The collection, dubbed British Workwear, includes striped and chequered dress shirts for women and T-shirts and shirts for men. The pieces are designed for men and women who wear Dr Martens boots and footwear and are supposed to complement the overall Dr Martens look.

The collection is only available at Dr Martens retail stores in the UK, USA and Asia as well as via its website and is priced at between £30 - £70. It has three UK company owned stores in Covent Garden, London, Cardiff and Leeds.

This isn’t the first time Dr Martens has launched clothing, it did have a clothing line previously but in 2002/2003, the brand made a decision to focus on footwear before looking to extend into other products. However, it was decided this year, as consumer demand is stronger than ever, it would be the right time to provide customers with clothing to complement the footwear collection.
