Drapers Fashion Summit signs extra speakers

LK Bennett chairman Robert Bensoussan and Debenhams deputy chief executive Michael Sharp are the latest retail chiefs to join the list of speakers at the Drapers Fashion Summit.

Bensoussan, who was also responsible for the success of designer footwear brand Jimmy Choo and the rapid expansion of handbag brand Radley, will take part in an on-stage interview on day one of the summit.

Bensoussan, who is also a founder of retail and luxury investment firm Sirius Equity, will share his views on the luxury sector, the impact of the downturn on the premium and designer market, and will reveal what he looks for in potential fashion and retail investments.

Bensoussan led the acquisition of footwear retailer LK Bennett in conjunction with Phoenix Equity earlier this year.

Separately, Michael Sharp, deputy chief executive of department store Debenhams, will replace Angela Spindler as a speaker on day one of the conference. Sharp will share his views on the work Debenhams has done on its own-brand offer and store environment and the reasons behind the repositioning. Spindler is leaving the department store.

The Drapers Fashion Summit takes place on November 18-19 at the Radisson Mayfair in London.
