Drapers Footwear winner Lele Pyp seeks £2.5m funding

Shoe brand and winner of the Drapers Footwear Designer of the Year Award 2014, Lele Pyp, has launched a funding campaign to raise £2.5m.

The brand hopes to raise the investment by March 2015 in order to expand its store portfolio in the UK and Switzerland.

Lele Pyp, which currently has two shops in Zurich, Switzerland, and one in London’s Mayfair, intends to open four more shops over the next four years - one in Geneva and three in London. Chelsea, Marylebone and West London are among the preferred locations.

The business also wants to launch its first transactional website with the funding.

Chief executive Bernardo Knab said: “After the hard work of establishing our Swiss market and the new Mayfair store in London, we feel the time is right to bring in an outside investor who can help us grow the business to the next stage. We are very excited to develop and grow the business in the near future”.

Michael Pearce, former chief executive of Ugg UK and current associate Partner at Ironbridge Capital Partners LLP, is advising on the deal. Pearce previously worked as a strategy consultant for Roksanda Ilincic, securing £3m investment for the brand.
