The City responded well to Blacks Leisure Group's tougher stance, after it wrote to suppliers last week demanding tough new terms including an extra 30 days' credit and a 5% discount. Shares rose 9.75p to 304p.
However, Monsoon took a hit this week as a profit warning sent shares down 7.25p to 390.25p.
Talk that Debenhams could be in Baugur's sights last week resulted in a fluctuating share price for the department store chain, which eventually settled up 3.5p to 177.5p. No doubt its pre-close trading update, scheduled for Friday as Drapers went to press, will lead to more seesawing.
Brand house Marchpole signed two long-term distribution deals this week with Dubai-based Chalhoub and Russian distributor Crocus for its Jean-Charles de Castelbajac brand. Its shares rose 15p to 162p.
