Drapers Share Monitor - Leahy plans Tesco's move into India

Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy is understood to be in line to pocket millions of pounds in share bonuses if the chain meets its US expansion targets.

Leahy is also thought to be negotiating with potential partners to expand the chain into India. Shares were down 9.25p to 450p.

Retail expansion plans at Mothercare saw shares rise 3.25p to 419.25p, while Burberry's proposals to open more shops as the company's profits stayed flat were followed by a share price drop of 16.5p to 665p.

Sports Direct International owner Mike Ashley was understood to have made almost £30m after selling his shares in sports brand Adidas. Stock fell 18.25p to an all-time low of 202p after chairman David Richardson's resignation.
