Young fashion brand Duck And Cover is to open six UK standalone stores in the next 12 months following the opening of its first store.
The brand, which opened a store in Birmingham’s Bullring in October and has 26 House of Fraser concessions and 300 wholesale accounts, will unveil its second standalone store, in the Westfield Derby shopping centre, this month.
Head of marketing Richard Whitbread said the retail expansion would increase Duck And Cover’s brand awareness. He said: “We’re in a fortunate position as we’re not over-leveraged with debt. We’re well known but not understood properly so the expansion can help us tell the brand story and really define ourselves.”
The brand has expanded into Europe, launching in Finland and France at the start of the year, and plans to open in Germany this year.
The website, www.duckandcover.co.uk, has already exceeded its undisclosed sales target for the year, added Whitbread, following its launch in January.
