Earth Squared enjoys spring boost for fairtrade accessories

Fairtrade women’s accessories brand Earth Squared has had its most successful spring season to date, with sales up 5% on the previous year and an additional 65 stockists on board since the start of the year.

The company was founded in 2001 and launched its wholesale business in 2007. It now has more than 500 stockists in the UK including independent retailers, visitor attractions and garden centres, as well as a further 40 overseas.

The founders, husband and wife team Alison and Simon Henderson, relaunched the brand’s transactional website last year for both trade and retail customers.

Alison Henderson said: “This has been our best spring season yet and we’re very excited about the future. Key to our growth this year has been the increasing number of accounts from both the UK and overseas, but equally important is repeat business from our existing and very loyal trade customer base, with whom we have very strong relationships built on trust.”

Earth Squared is accredited by the British Association of Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers (BAFTS) and its partners in Vietnam, where the products are handmade, are members of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO).
