Net-a-Porter to launch Chinese, French and German sites

Luxury etailer Net-a-Porter is to launch three new international versions of its website later this month.

The online retailer will debut French, German and Chinese versions in March as it also launches a new distribution centre.

Asian customers reportedly make up a third of Net-A-Porter’s sales and the retailer is hoping to sharply reduce delivery times for these customers with a Hong Kong distribution centre.

The 130,000 sq ft warehouse will serve consumers in 17 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Adrienne Ma, senior vice president at Net-a-Porter Asia Pacific Group, said: “The primary reason for choosing to open a distribution center in Hong Kong is because it’s a free port with strong courier networks, which will allow us to improve on our existing shipping service time period by around one day.

“We plan to offer a same-day delivery service in Hong Kong and next-day shipping service to major cities in Australia soon.”

Net-a-Porter has also set up a marketing team in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
