Cooke has been with the BCSC for more than seven years and was previously policy advisor at the British Retail Consortium from November 2005 to January 2009. He replaces John Coyne as CEO.

BCSC is set to be renamed, rebranded and repositioned at its conference in Manchester on September 14-15.

“There has never been a more exciting time to lead BCSC,” said Cooke. “The retail property sector continues to adapt to the way consumers shop and places evolve.

“Technological revolution has had a profound impact on our industry and BCSC is well placed to support businesses operating in the increasingly diverse world of retail property and place making to respond to change.”
