Spanish retailer El Ganso is looking to double its London footprint with new stores on Marylebone High Street, Spitalfields, South Molton Street and Jermyn Street, Drapers understands.
The retailer, which is part owned by LVMH-backed investment fund L Capital, already has four stores in the capital on King’s Road, Neal Street, Carnaby Street and in Westfield London.
El Ganso was founded by Clemente Cebrián Ara and his sons Alvaro and Clemente in 2004. It sells clothing for men, women and children, alongside footwear and accessories in around 90 stores globally. Its holding company Acturus Capital sold its 49% stake to L Capital in October last year.
L Capital owns stakes in a number of fashion brands, including Pepe Jeans, Hackett, Sandro, Gant and Seafolly.
A spokeswoman for El Ganso said expansion areas are to be determined in the near future but confirmed: “Our ambition is to develop our stores in the UK (not only in London).”
Property agency HDH is advising El Ganso but declined to comment.
