Elie Tahari hires new chief executive

Luxury brand Elie Tahari has hired a new chief executive, charged with expanding the business globally across all channels.

Bob Galvin joins from the Camuto Group, where he has been president for the past five years, overseeing the relaunch of Vincent Camuto as well as looking after Tory Burch, BCBG Max Azria, Sanctuary Clothing, Jessica Simpson, and Lucky Brand.

Previously Galvin was chief operating officer and managing director of sportswear brand Fila, and prior to that he was excutive vice president of Nine West.

Elie Tahari said: “Bob’s understanding of the luxury market and his experience with a broad range of fashion brands makes him the ideal candidate for this position.

There is no doubt that he will be a vital addition to the Elie Tahari family allowing us to continue to expand all growth channels of the company domestically and especially internationally and in licensing as our business continues to evolve. I look forward to working with him as a partner in the business.”

Galvin said he planned to “develop the existing wholesale business, grow the international, accessories, men’s, and retail businesses as well as add greater breadth to licensing and the brands’ overall global expansion and product offerings.”
