Luxury fashion house Emanuel Ungaro is understood to have dropped actress Lindsay Lohan as artistic adviser after just one collection.
Emanuel Ungaro chief designer Estrella Archs, who worked with Lohan on the label’s spring 10 collection, told Reuters that the actress had no input in the autumn 10 line shown in Paris on Monday.
However, just a week before the autumn 10 show, Emanuel Ungaro said in a statement that Lohan was still working with the label.
Emanuel Ungaro appointed Lohan as artistic adviser in September but her debut collection for spring 10 was panned by the press after Lohan’s input saw the label put tight strapless mini dresses in acid colours and reams of sequins down the catwalk.
Just two months later, Emanuel Ungaro president and chief executive Mounir Moufarrige resigned, although he said it had nothing to do with Lohan’s collection.
Speaking on Monday about the poor reviews last season, Archs said: “You have up and downs and you learn a lot, more from the downs than from the ups.”
The autumn 10 collection proved slightly more subtle although it still led with leopard prints and bright fuscias and with shapes that gave volume on the hips.
