Emanuel Ungaro to re-launch line as it returns to Paris

French luxury fashion house Emanuel Ungaro will return to the Paris Fashion Week schedule next season after naming Italian designer Fausto Puglisi as its creative director.

The luxury label has not shown a catwalk collection since October 2011, but has now teamed up with Italian fashion company Aeffe, which will act as a licensee for global production and distribution to re-launch the line.

Aeffe chairman Massimo Ferretti said: “Emanuel Ungaro is a brand that has left a significant mark and still has a lot to say. Puglisi is a young talent with an international visibility - but with strong roots in our Latin world - and who will be able to turn it into a new and contemporary line.”

The re-launched line will debut during Paris Fashion Week in March next year.

Emanuel Ungaro previously collaborated with Giles Deacon which ended in autumn 11 after two seasons.
