Emmanuelle Alt replaces Carine Roitfeld as French Vogue editor

Emmanuelle Alt is to replace Carine Roitfeld as editor of French Vogue after Carine Roitfeld announced her departure last month.

Alt, who worked alongside Roitfeld for a decade at Vogue Paris, will take up her position from February 1.

Alt has spent her entire career at French magazines, including stints at teen title 20 Ans and fashion magazine Mixte before she joined French Vogue in 2000 as fashion director.

Olivier Lalanne will work closely with Alt and have enlarged responsibilities from those he undertook under Roitfeld. Lalanne will assume sole editorial direction of the biannual men’s title Vogue Hommes International.

Roitfled announced her resignation last month after ten years at the helm of the magazine.
