Entrepreneur targets Oasis, Warehouse and Coast

Entrepreneur Ajay Khaitan is said to be eyeing fashion chains Oasis, Warehouse and Coast.

Khaitan’s private equity firm, Emerisque Brands, which he founded in 2004, is understood to be in talks to buy the retailers from Icelandic bank Kaupthing in a £60m deal first reported by the Sunday Times.

Oasis, Warehouse and Coast were put up for sale in November last year. Kaupthing acquired the brands in 2009 from Mosaic Fashions, which entered administration after shareholder Baugur collapsed.

Emerisque declined to comment.
