Eric Musgrave has left his role as chief executive of trade body UKFT today.
Musgrave, who was instrumental in setting up UKFT’s Let’s Make it Here directory of UK suppliers and who led the organisation’s relocation to a new head office in Bloomsbury last year, will leave to return to his journalism and consultancy career. He joined UKFT in December 2009.
His responsibilities at UKFT will be divided between its chairman Peter Lucas, chief operating officer Adam Mansell and director of international affairs Paul Alger until Musgrave’s successor is appointed.
The organisation’s deputy chairmen John Wilson and John Miln will also continue the association’s work.
Lucas said in a statement: “I can appreciate Eric’s desire to return to what is his ‘first love’ and, on behalf of the board, I would like to thank him for his efforts in a time of great change for the association and extend our good wishes for the future.”
Musgrave added: “Joining UKFT gave me an opportunity to help shape the future of an industry I am passionate about and I will continue to do this from a different perspective. I wish UKFT every success as it continues to evolve as the business network for the sector.”
