German womenswear brand Escada has appointed Glenn McMahon as its new chief executive.
McMahon, who joins the business in January, is currently chief executive of Tamara Mellon and was previously president of Dolce & Gabbana US, vice president of Giorgio Armani US and Donna Karan, and president of US brand Ellen Tracy.
He replaces Bruno Sälzer, who left the company in November 2013 and became chief executive of Bench in June.
Megha Mittal, chairman and managing director of Escada, said: “When I acquired the company, the immediate focus was on optimizing operations and improving the financial performance. We are well on track, and now the priority is to elevate the brand, enhance the customer experience and continue the growth and expansion.”
He continued: “During the course of this year we have strengthened our management team with several senior appointments, particularly in operations and marketing. With Glenn’s appointment, Escada has a very strong team in place for driving the next phase of brand building.”
